Bangladesh set to host Pakistan for five ODIs in 2027

DHAKA: Bangladesh are expected to stage a five-match One-Day International series against Pakistan in 2027, according to reports linked to the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s media rights tender for its home international calendar.

Local media said the BCB has sought bids for television and digital rights covering Bangladesh’s home internationals in 2026 and 2027. The tender, according to those reports, includes a five-ODI home assignment against Pakistan in 2027 among Bangladesh’s scheduled series against visiting teams.

The BCB has yet to formally announce the fixtures or issue a complete schedule. If the series goes ahead as listed in the tender, it would add another bilateral contest between the two sides as Bangladesh continue work on their 2027 international programme.

Pakistan last visited Bangladesh earlier this year. On that tour, the teams played a three-match ODI series in March before meeting again in a two-Test series in May. Bangladesh won the ODI contest 2-1 and then completed a 2-0 clean sweep in the Test series, continuing their recent strong results against Pakistan at home.

Pakistan’s upcoming Test commitments

While the proposed 2027 ODI series has not been officially confirmed, Pakistan are also preparing for a demanding stretch in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle later this year.

Pakistan are expected to leave for the West Indies on July 13. They will then play a four-day warm-up match starting on July 18 before beginning the Test series.

The two Tests against the West Indies are scheduled in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to 29 and from August 2 to 6. After that tour, Pakistan will head to England for a three-Test series.

The England series is due to begin at Headingley in Leeds on August 19, followed by the second Test at Lord’s in London from August 27. The third and final Test is scheduled to start at Edgbaston in Birmingham on September 9.
