Armed robberies reported in multiple areas of Islamabad

Police said armed robbers carried out multiple strikes in Islamabad, including a house raid in H-13 and a shop robbery near G.T. Road. Victims were deprived of cash, motorcycles, phones and other valuables.

Armed robberies reported in multiple areas of Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Armed robberies were reported in several parts of the capital, with victims deprived of cash, motorcycles, mobile phones and other valuables in separate incidents, police said.

According to police, one of the incidents took place in H-13 at around 3:30am, when a group of armed men entered a house while the family was asleep. The intruders allegedly posed as Crime Control Department officials after waking the residents, then held the family at gunpoint, searched the house and took away two tolas of gold ornaments, Rs60,000 in cash, household items worth Rs861,000, and meat kept in the refrigerator before fleeing.

In another robbery, three armed men stormed a milk shop near G.T. Road and held the shopkeepers at gunpoint. Police said the robbers escaped with Rs300,000 in cash and two mobile phones valued at Rs100,000.

Separate street robberies were also reported in the Tarnol and Sangjani areas. Police said Abdul Rauf was intercepted by three robbers near a pedestrian bridge in G-15 while riding a Honda 125 motorcycle. The suspects allegedly held him at gunpoint and took away his motorcycle, a mobile phone and Rs200,000 in cash.

In Sangjani, police said Hamza Pervaiz was robbed near Sara-i-Kharboza after assailants stopped him while he was on a motorcycle. The robbers allegedly snatched his motorcycle, cash and a mobile phone worth Rs81,500 before escaping.

In another incident in Tarnol, Adil was reportedly stopped by two armed men while travelling on a motorcycle. Police said the suspects took away a Honda 125 motorcycle, a Samsung phone worth Rs265,000 and Rs45,000 in cash before fleeing the scene.
