ABBOTTABAD: Protests were reported in Abbottabad after a 28-year-old man died after being shot, while police registered a murder case against unidentified suspects and began an investigation.
According to the First Information Report lodged at Nawan Shehar Police Station, complainant Muhammad Javed, son of Muhammad Shafi, told police that Osama, son of Mir Osama, was shot and critically wounded on the night of June 15, 2026.
The FIR states that the shooting took place near Dhameera Colony, opposite Punjab Hotel, close to the Abbottabad-Mansehra Road. The injured man was taken to Ayub Teaching Hospital, where he later died during treatment.
The case was reported to police on June 16. The killing triggered strong public anger and protests in the city as authorities moved to investigate the incident.
