Suspect flees after allegedly killing brother and family in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: Four members of a family were gunned down in the Havelian tehsil of Abbottabad on Wednesday, allegedly by a man who fled the scene after the attack, police said.

According to Abbottabad police spokesperson Azam Mir Afzal, the incident occurred in the Bandi Attai area, where the suspect is believed to have opened fire on his own brother, his sister-in-law, and their two daughters. The motive for the killings has yet to be determined.

Police said the assailant escaped immediately after the shooting. A team was dispatched to the area and an investigation has been launched. A first information report is being registered at the Havelian police station.

The spokesperson confirmed that the victims’ bodies have been shifted to Havelian Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Officials added that efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the suspect.
