ISLAMABAD: A court in Rawalpindi has sent 10 suspects, including Pakistani, Chinese and other foreign nationals, to Adiala Jail on judicial remand in a case linked to the alleged making of live pornographic videos in the Rawat police station area.
Judicial Magistrate Jahanzaib Aman rejected the police request for physical remand of the accused, who include seven women and three men. The court noted that the alleged videos as well as cameras and camera stands had already been recovered, and held that there was no basis for keeping the suspects in further physical custody.
The accused have also moved bail applications, which the court admitted for hearing. Notices were issued to the prosecution, while the station house officer of Rawat police station was directed to present the complete case record before the court. The magistrate also ordered that all 10 accused be produced again on June 30.
Police raided a house in the Rawat area two days earlier and arrested the seven women and three men in an allegedly naked state. A large number of citizens were present outside the courtroom during the proceedings.
