ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday kept in place the arrest warrants of Sohail Afridi in a case linked to the killing of a police officer during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s October 4, 2024 protest, and directed authorities to arrest him and bring him before the court.
The order was issued by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra during proceedings in the case. The court acted after noting that Afridi had repeatedly failed to appear before it.
In the same hearing, the court declared former opposition leader Omar Ayub, Amir Mughal, Hafeezur Rehman and other accused as proclaimed offenders over their continued absence from the proceedings.
PTI leader Azam Swati appeared before the court during Monday’s hearing. The case concerns the killing of a police officer during the party’s protest held on October 4 last year.
