Three bodies recovered from different areas of Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Police recovered the bodies of three unidentified people from separate locations in Faisalabad and began efforts to establish their identities and contact their families, officials said.

According to officials, one body was found along Canal Road in the Madina Town area, where rescuers pulled out the remains of a man believed to be about 40 years old after he was spotted floating in the water. The body was later handed over to police.

In another case, police and rescue personnel retrieved the body of an unidentified man, said to be around 50 years old, from a canal near 264-RB Bara Whela close to 80 Mor in Dijkot. Officials said legal formalities were initiated after the recovery.

Separately, passers-by informed police after spotting the body of an elderly woman near Jawad Club Chowk in Ghulam Muhammad Abad. Police shifted her body to a hospital as part of the identification process and investigation.

In a separate development, a police constable and another man were taken into custody after they were accused of assaulting and injuring a duty officer at Thikriwala police station.
