Dance party drug supplier nabbed by authorities

KARACHI: Police in Karachi have arrested a man described by officials as a wanted drug suspect accused of selling narcotics online and supplying them across the city, including to dance parties.

According to the SSP South spokesperson, Darakhshan police carried out the arrest after receiving a tip-off. The suspect was identified as Shah Fahad, son of Shahin Parvez. Police said he was a listed drug dealer allegedly involved in using social media platforms to sell narcotics.

The spokesperson said police recovered 1,470 grams of drugs from the suspect, along with cash believed to be sale proceeds. The narcotics, according to police, were packed in several boxes and plastic bags.

During initial questioning, the suspect admitted to supplying ice and cocaine to customers through different social media platforms, including at dance parties, police said. Officials added that he used riders to deliver drugs in various parts of the city and said those riders had already been arrested by Darakhshan police in earlier action. A record check, police said, showed Shah Fahad was a fugitive wanted in narcotics cases registered at Darakhshan and Defence police stations, while further verification found he had also faced multiple previous drug cases at other police stations.
