KARACHI: Karachi police on Friday said they have arrested three suspects linked to an inter-provincial network supplying narcotics to colleges and universities, following a joint operation with security agencies.
Officials at Gardens Police Station said one of the arrested suspects, identified as Behroze, was part of a group involved in transporting cannabis and other narcotics from Balochistan to Karachi. The drugs were then distributed within educational institutions, according to police.
Police said narcotics valued between Rs3 million and Rs3.5 million were recovered during the operation. The seized material has been taken into custody as evidence while further investigation continues.
Authorities stated that the network operated across provincial lines, with supply routes originating in Balochistan and extending into Karachi. Law enforcement agencies are conducting additional inquiries to identify other members and distribution points linked to the group.
Police added that operations against drug trafficking networks targeting students will continue as part of ongoing enforcement measures.
