CHICHAWATNI: Wildlife Rangers rescued a rare migratory flamingo after it was found injured in a suburban area of Chichawatni and moved it to Joharabad Wildlife Park for treatment and rehabilitation, officials said.

A spokesperson said the rescue operation was launched after authorities received information that local residents near a canal were keeping the injured bird. A team then took custody of the flamingo.

According to the spokesperson, the bird was unable to fly because of a leg injury. It was shifted immediately to the wildlife park, where veterinary treatment was started.

Joharabad Wildlife Park in-charge Fareeha Batool said the flamingo would remain under care until it had fully recovered.
