RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s top military leadership on Saturday extended heartfelt congratulations to the nation and members of the armed forces on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, describing the occasion as a symbol of courage, unity, military excellence and national resilience.

In a joint message issued on the occasion, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs and veterans, while reaffirming the armed forces’ unwavering commitment to Pakistan’s sovereignty and security.

The military leadership said the anniversary was being observed with “deep reverence, gratitude and national fervour”, reflecting the enduring spirit of professionalism and unity between the armed forces and the people of Pakistan.

“The Armed Forces stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Pakistan, reaffirming their unbreakable bond with the nation they proudly serve,” the statement said.

Ceremonies are being held across the country to commemorate the victory of Marka-e-Haq and honour the sacrifices of martyrs and veterans. Floral wreaths are being laid at memorials and special prayers are being offered for those who laid down their lives in defence of the country.

The statement described Marka-e-Haq as a defining milestone in Pakistan’s history that demonstrated national resolve, strategic maturity and military capability.

According to the military leadership, Pakistan’s “measured and resolute response” during the conflict exposed what it termed adversarial conspiracies, false flag narratives and disinformation campaigns, weakening their credibility at the international level.

The statement said that despite facing conventional and hybrid threats, including proxy terrorism, Pakistan’s armed forces demonstrated operational superiority across land, air, sea, cyber and information domains.

It further noted that following Marka-e-Haq, Pakistan had strengthened its defensive preparedness and reinforced full-spectrum deterrence despite resource constraints and asymmetries.

“Marka-e-Haq stands as a testament to the Armed Forces’ preparedness, dedication and professionalism, which decisively strengthened public confidence in their Armed Forces,” it added.

The military leadership also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, stressing that sustainable peace in South Asia could only be achieved through meaningful dialogue, mutual respect and adherence to international law and justice.

“With the unwavering support of a resilient and united nation, the Armed Forces remain capable, vigilant and fully prepared to confront all internal and external challenges, ensuring the security, stability and territorial integrity of Pakistan,” the statement concluded.
