LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced updated details for its Apna Ghar programme, outlining new loan limits, subsidised mark-up rates and eligibility criteria for low- and middle-income households.
Under the scheme, applicants can access housing finance with a cap on loan amounts based on property size and category. The programme is designed to support construction and purchase of homes through structured financing options.
Officials said the mark-up rate will be subsidised by the government, allowing borrowers to repay loans at reduced rates compared to commercial lending. The repayment period has been structured over several years to make instalments manageable.
The initiative targets individuals with limited access to formal housing finance, with eligibility linked to income levels, property ownership status and verification requirements. Applicants must provide valid identification and meet domicile conditions.
Authorities said the scheme is part of broader efforts to expand affordable housing and improve access to home ownership across Punjab. Further operational details, including application procedures and timelines, have been made available through official government channels.
