The federal Apna Ghar Scheme offers eligible citizens housing loans up to Rs10 million for building, buying, or renovating homes. Financing runs through participating banks with subsidised terms and multi-year repayment.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government’s Apna Ghar Scheme is offering housing loans of up to Rs10 million to eligible citizens for construction, purchase and renovation of homes.
Under the scheme, applicants can obtain financing through participating banks with repayment periods extending over several years under subsidised terms.
Officials said the programme is aimed at supporting low and middle-income families seeking affordable housing options across the country.
Eligibility criteria include Pakistani citizenship, a valid CNIC, proof of income and compliance with banking requirements set by participating financial institutions.
Applicants are also required to meet specific property and financing conditions depending on whether the loan is being sought for home construction, purchase or renovation.
Authorities said preference is being given to individuals who do not already own large residential properties, while formal verification processes will be carried out before approval of applications.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader housing and construction support programme intended to improve home ownership opportunities and stimulate economic activity linked to the construction sector.
