Three killed in separate road accidents in Karachi

KARACHI: Three people, including a child, lost their lives in separate road accidents in different parts of the city, according to a report.

In one of the incidents, a young motorcyclist was killed and his pillion rider was injured after a trailer struck their motorcycle in the Malir City area. The victims were taken to Jinnah Hospital, where the deceased was identified as 22-year-old Mazhar, while the injured man was identified as Hameed Alam.

Both men were residents of Quaidabad. Police, assisted by people present at the scene, arrested the trailer driver and impounded the vehicle involved in the accident.

Pedestrian dies in Orangi Town

In another accident, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where the deceased was identified as 25-year-old Noor-ul-Haq.

Child dies after bicycle fall

In a separate incident in Defence Phase 4, a 12-year-old child died after reportedly falling from his bicycle. The body was taken to Jinnah Hospital, where the deceased was identified as Aran.

The three incidents occurred in different localities of Karachi and together added to the toll from road mishaps in the metropolis.

In the Malir City case, police action was taken immediately after the crash, with the driver being taken into custody and the trailer seized. In the Orangi Town incident, the vehicle involved could not be identified from the information available in the report. In Defence Phase 4, the child was reported to have died after an accidental fall from his bicycle.

The deceased and injured in the separate incidents were transported to major public hospitals in the city, including Jinnah Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where identification was carried out.

The victims included a motorcyclist, a pedestrian and a child, reflecting the varied nature of the road-related incidents reported from across Karachi.
