Nine people were killed and several others injured in separate firing incidents, clashes and road accidents across Balochistan, according to police. The fatalities were reported from the Reko Diq road, Nasirabad and Mastung areas.

Nine killed in separate firing incidents and road accidents across Balochistan

QUETTA / DERA MURAD JAMALI / KHUZDAR: At least nine people were killed and dozens of others were injured in separate incidents of firing, clashes and traffic accidents reported from different parts of Balochistan, according to police.

Police said three people, including two Afghan nationals, lost their lives and 18 others were injured in a traffic accident involving three vehicles on the Reko Diq site road late on Wednesday night.

Officials said the injured included Afghan women and children who were travelling towards the Iranian border and were allegedly trying to enter Iran through an infrequently used illegal route. According to police, the crash took place when three speeding vehicles collided.

Police officials said, “Five passengers sustained serious injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for treatment.”

Incidents in Nasirabad and nearby areas

In separate incidents in Nasirabad, Tamboo, Chhatter, Dera Allah Yar, Notal and Dera Bugti, three people were killed and 13 others were injured in road accidents, firing incidents and clashes, police said.

A young man who had been injured in a road accident near Dera Murad Jamali later died during treatment at a hospital. In another case near Rojhan Jamali in the Dera Allah Yar area, a woman who was hurt in a road accident died while under treatment at a private hospital in Sukkur.

In the Shahenshah area, which falls within the limits of Chhatter police station, a speeding pickup overturned. Police said a woman died at the scene, while another woman and four other people were injured.

In Dera Bugti’s Jani Beeri area, within the jurisdiction of Sui police, three people were injured in an armed clash between two groups.

In Tamboo, within Khan Kot police station limits, a young man identified as Muhammad Panah was seriously wounded after unidentified attackers opened fire and fled.

Separately, within the limits of Manjho Shori police station, Hidayat Ullah Manjho and Sabir Ali Manjho were injured in two separate firing incidents and were shifted to hospital.

In Dera Murad Jamali city, Shah Nawaz was injured during a fight in the Langho Mohalla Industries area.

In the Notal area on the National Highway, a mother and son were injured in a road accident. Police identified them as Elahi Bakhsh Bohar and Ms Laila, wife of Pir Bakhsh Bohar.

Three shot dead in Mastung

Meanwhile, three people were shot dead by unidentified armed men in two separate firing incidents in Mastung town on Thursday, police said.

According to police, the first incident took place in front of Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway, where unknown assailants opened indiscriminate fire on a vehicle.

Two men travelling in the vehicle were killed after suffering multiple bullet wounds. Police identified them as Muhammad Naeem Badini and Muhammad Aamir Badini.

In another incident, unidentified men riding a motorcycle opened fire on a young man in the Teri area of Mastung Road while he was passing through the locality. Police said he died on the spot after receiving multiple bullet injuries.
