Kuwait praises Pakistan’s role in efforts to ease US-Iran tensions

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Sabah praised Pakistan’s role in facilitating efforts aimed at easing tensions between the United States and Iran during a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Foreign Office said the two leaders spoke by phone and discussed Pakistan’s diplomatic role in the regional situation. During the conversation, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its efforts and said dialogue and diplomacy remained the only workable way to address issues.

Both sides also reaffirmed the strength of relations between Pakistan and Kuwait and agreed to stay in close contact.

Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach

The development comes after other international counterparts also acknowledged Pakistan’s role in the matter. Earlier, European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand also appreciated Pakistan’s role during separate telephone conversations with Dar.

Pakistan has repeatedly emphasised diplomacy in dealing with regional tensions, and in the latest exchange with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Dar again underscored that engagement through talks was the only viable path forward.

Pakistan-Kuwait ties reaffirmed

The telephone call also focused on bilateral relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said both countries reaffirmed their strong ties and agreed to remain in communication.

The exchange is part of a broader series of diplomatic contacts in which foreign counterparts have recognised Pakistan’s role in efforts linked to regional peace.

Both Pakistan and Kuwait expressed support for continued engagement and close coordination.

The latest contact reflects ongoing diplomatic communication between Pakistan and international partners on developments related to the region, with Islamabad maintaining that dialogue remains central to resolving disputes and reducing tensions.
