Security sources had said on Friday that the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and police had been conducting a joint operation in Quetta district’s Shaban area since July 5 against terrorists involved in the killing of 27 police personnel during the attack on the police post at the Mangi Dam pumping station.
During the attack, the terrorists martyred nine police personnel, including two station house officers (SHOs), and abducted 18 other policemen at gunpoint. The abducted personnel were later killed, and their bodies were recovered from the Zarghoon Gar mountainous area.
State-run Radio Pakistan had reported on Friday that 79 terrorists had been killed in Balochistan since July 5.

He made the remarks while chairing a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee on the National Action Plan in Quetta, attended by Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Addressing the meeting, the prime minister declared: “One thing is decided: it is a mutual and singular decision of the civil and military leadership that we must end terrorism collectively.”
