Six-year-old boy found dead after sexual assault in Karachi

KARACHI: A six-year-old boy who was reported missing from Karachi’s Napier area was allegedly sexually assaulted and killed after being abducted from outside his home, police said.

According to police, the child, identified as Muhammad Wali, went missing on Monday evening. After searching for him for several hours without success, his family registered a kidnapping case at Napier Police Station.

Police said the boy’s body was later recovered from Punjabi Gali in the Napier area, stuffed inside a sack. They said the body showed signs of torture and was shifted to Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police added that the exact cause of death would be established after the post-mortem report is received.

Investigators said a suspect, identified as Hamza, had been arrested in connection with the case. According to police, the suspect is a neighbour of the victim and was caught by local residents before being handed over to police custody. Police said action would be taken against him for his alleged role in the crime and that further investigation was continuing.

The family appealed to senior authorities to intervene and ensure justice. They alleged that they had been looking for the child for two days before his body was found. The boy’s mother alleged that her son’s mutilated body had been placed in a sack and thrown from a three-storey building.

Family members further alleged that the incident took place inside the neighbour’s house. They said the suspect had refused to let them enter the premises while they were searching for the child and had also acted as if he was helping in the search.

The victim’s father said he works as a rickshaw driver and has four daughters. He said Muhammad Wali was his only son and the youngest among his five children.
