Punjab schools to remain closed on Fridays, timings reduced
Punjab schools will now operate on a four-day week with Fridays off. New timings have been set to enhance the education system's effectiveness across the province.
LAHORE: Schools across Punjab will now follow a four-day week, with Friday designated as the weekly holiday.
The Punjab School Education Department has issued a notification introducing new working hours for both public and private schools throughout the province.
Under the revised schedule, school timings will be from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. For schools operating in double shifts, the morning shift will continue until 12:30 pm, while the second shift will run from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
The department said the updated schedule is intended to strengthen the education system and make the teaching process more effective.
