Punjab revises school hours for Ramadan 2026

LAHORE: The School Education Department Punjab has announced updated school timings across the province for the holy month of Ramadan.
According to a notification issued on February 16, all public and private educational institutions will observe adjusted schedules to ease the routine for students and staff observing the fast.
For single-shift schools, classes will be held from 8:30am to 1:00pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, schools will close earlier at 12:30pm.
In double-shift schools, the morning session will run from 8:30am to 12:30pm between Monday and Thursday. The second shift will begin at 1:00pm and conclude at 4:00pm on the same days. On Fridays, the evening shift will operate from 2:30pm to 5:00pm.
The notification further states that girls’ schools will open and close 15 minutes earlier than the prescribed timings. The revised schedule will remain in place throughout Ramadan.
