ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court has finalized its winter break, announcing that it will close from December 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026. Regular hearings will resume on January 5, 2026.
Despite the recess, court offices will remain functional, and urgent or pre-scheduled cases will continue to be heard. The notification emphasized uninterrupted administrative operations throughout the vacation period.
Formed under the 27th Constitutional Amendment, the Federal Constitutional Court plays a critical role in strengthening Pakistan’s judicial framework and safeguarding constitutional rights. Its central responsibility is to interpret the Constitution and address disputes involving constitutional questions.
Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan leads the court as Chief Justice, joined by Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Amir Farooq, Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, Justice Karim Khan Agha, Justice Rozi Khan Brech, and Justice Arshad Hussain Shah.
On the court’s official website, Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan described the FCC’s creation as a landmark in Pakistan’s constitutional evolution. He reiterated the court’s commitment to independent and fair constitutional interpretation, protection of fundamental rights, and ensuring stability and justice across state institutions.
