Supreme Court announces structured summer vacation schedule
The Supreme Court has announced a structured summer vacation schedule for 2026. It said judges will maximise sittings at the principal seat in Islamabad and reduce sittings at branch registries.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday announced a structured summer vacation schedule for 2026, saying the move is intended to make fuller use of the court’s institutional capacity and improve judicial efficiency.
According to the court, the arrangement was made in view of the need to raise judicial productivity and speed up the disposal of pending cases.
The Supreme Court said its judges, at the request of Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and after mutual consultation, had voluntarily agreed to maximise the sitting period at the principal seat in Islamabad during the summer vacation.
In a change from earlier practice, the judges have also agreed to reduce the sitting period, if any, to be availed at branch registries, the court said.
