WAZIRABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Bilal Farooq Tarar has been elected unopposed in the NA-66 Wazirabad by-election.
The Returning Officer has issued result and officially notified his victory.
The constituency has 648,872 registered voters, and initially, candidates from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), and six independents were contesting. However, following the ban on a religious party and the boycott by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), all other candidates withdrew, leaving Bilal Farooq Tarar as the sole contender, thus securing the seat without a contest.
