Protest in Muzaffarabad against Indian PM Modi’s visit to IIOJK

MUZAFFARABAD: A massive protest was held in Muzaffarabad against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a massive protest was organized by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad against Narendra Modi’s visit to occupied Kashmir.

The protest demonstration and rally, organized in front of Central Press Club, was led by Pasban-e-Hurriyet Chairman Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Usman Ali Hashim, Shaukat Javed Mir, Raja Aftab Ahmed Khan, Raja Muhammad Sajjad Latif Khan, Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan, Khalid Mehmood Zaidi, Dr Muhammad Manzoor, Iqbal Yasin, Muhammad Ishaq Shaheen and others.

Addressing the protest demo, the speakers said that Narendra Modi’s visit to Srinagar under the heavy guard of Indian soldiers cannot change the controversial status of the Kashmir dispute. They said Kashmiri people have completely rejected the visit of the Indian Prime Minister and Hindutva agenda.

The speakers said India exists as an occupier, oppressor, aggressor and terrorist in occupied Kashmir, adding Narendra Modi took away their special status from the people of Jammu and Kashmir by abrogating Article 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019.

The speakers said on December 11 last year, the Supreme Court of India had upheld Narendra Modi’s illegal actions of revoking the special status of the occupied territory.

They said the Kashmiri people will not allow the sacrifices of their martyrs to go in waste and will continue to struggle for complete freedom from Indian rule. They said Narendra Modi is trying to strengthen his illegal military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by announcing so-called development packages during his visit to Srinagar.

They demanded of the United Nations to fulfill its promises to give the Kashmiris their right to self-determination.

On the occasion, the protesters also took out a rally from Central Press Club to Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk.
