‘Suspect’ breaches PM House security

ISLAMABAD: The security of the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad was thrown into serious doubts after an “Afghan suspect” walked straight into the building unchecked on Saturday, police confirmed.

The security personnel woke up from their slumber only when the suspect was inside the PM House. The police and other security personnel got panicked but still acting swiftly got hold of the suspect and launched inquiry by looking into every angle of the security breach.

According to the preliminary interrogation, the suspect told the investigators that he is a resident of Afghanistan and his name is Naseerullah.

The security institutions were wondering how come the suspect entered the PM House unhindered.

The personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department shifted the suspect to an unknown location after arresting him from the PM House.

A “suspicious” man was arrested from Pakistan Secretariat near the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad, according to Islamabad Police.

In a statement spokesperson for Capital City Police Jawwad Taqi said the individual could not present any identification document at the time of his arrest.

“The suspicious person was detained from near the wall adjacent to the Pak Secretariat and the Prime Minister’s House,” he added. The spokesperson said the individual’s medical tests were being conducted to ascertain his mental health.

The CCTV footage showed the man walking on the main road outside the Pak Secretariat Blocks A, B, C, and D.

However, similar pedestrian activity was also seen soon after the man passed through the secretariat blocks.
