Pakistan is determined to retaliate

War of words between Indian Defence Minister and new COAS

India continues to try to increase tension through anti-Pakistan statements and in the past few days, the Indian Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, has once again threatened Pakistan. Gen Syed Asim Munir, the new Chief of the Pakistan Army, while responding to his controversial statements regarding the occupation of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has made it clear in a very open manner that the Pakistan Army has the ability to invade and kill enemies in case of aggression, and if war is imposed, we will not only defend the motherland but also take the fight to the enemy’s territory.

It is not the first time that India has used rhetoric against Pakistan. India keeps trying such clever tactics from time to time and every time it is met by facing shame but there is no let-up in the boldness and stubbornness of the Indian government India, which has not stopped its behaviour despite inflating its anger many times and continues its rhetoric against Pakistan. However, this time Army Chief General Asim Munir has given such a blunt answer that after it India will never dare to cast its greedy eyes on Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The work of the armed forces of the country is to fight and the Pakistan Army Chief will also converse about fighting whilst peace, diplomatic solutions and negotiations are the responsibility of the political leadership. Pakistan can compete with India in terms of defence capability. The strategic balance is in Pakistan’s favour rather than the number of soldiers and the pile of weapons, also General Asim Munir has determined his priorities after taking office. He is paying full attention to the professional capacity of the Army by separating it from political affairs.

It is worthy of satisfaction that the Chief of the Pakistan Army is always ready to deal with any external aggression but the political chaos and division that has been going on for a period of time in the country will also have to be overcome because national consensus and unity are needed to defeat the enemy’s ambitions.

Inevitably, the country is deeply embroiled in internal conflicts. General Asim Munir and his team must deal with the political problems caused by the former Army Chief while retaining the Army away from politics and fighting against conspiratorial enemies like India. The nation has placed a lot of hopes on its new Army Chief, people supported the Army against the anti-national forces yesterday and the nation will continue to support the Army against anti-national forces until the end.

Pakistan’s message of peace has been misconstrued for a long time and its willingness to negotiate is interpreted as weakness but this time the Pakistan Army Chief’s blunt response to the controversial statements of the Indian Defense Minister has stirred the public’s sentiments. The nation is welcoming the statement of the new Army Chief. It was very important to get the message out to the Indian government, so that India refrained from creating threats to the neighbouring countries and if it still does not stop such behaviour and the world continues to watch as a spectator, then the whole world will have to bear the consequences along with India.

It is to be hoped that the political leadership in these difficult situations would realize the difficulties the country is in and how much the enemy is working to harm the country, but the political leadership has no leisure from their confrontations and tearing down each other. They are so busy in implementing actions that they have not even given themselves time to respond to the anti-national statements.

The coalition government was expected to give an effective response to the Indian Defence Minister’s statements in a political and diplomatic manner, but the issue has been abandoned by condemning it in a weak tone and as much as the nation is sensitive about the security of Pakistan and the issue of Kashmir, the coalition government has not realized this sensitivity. That is why Army Chief General Asim Munir has to give a blunt answer.

India is an aggressive country and its ongoing behaviour will not be corrected until it is answered in a regressive manner, so it is necessary to respond to its cowardly statements in a strong and effective manner. Unless India sees its interests in danger, the Modi government will not realize the importance of negotiations.
