Sanjarani urges Elahi to keep coalition government intact

LAHORE: Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani Saturday called on senior leader of the ruling coalition party, PML-Q, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and urged him to keep the coalition government intact.

According to sources, the meeting between Sadiq Sanjarani and Pervez Elahi in Lahore lasted for an hour and a half.

According to sources, in the context of the meetings of the opposition leadership with the PML-Q leadership, Sadiq Sanjarani said that all eyes were on the PML-Q.

“Our eyes and the eyes of the nation are fixed on you. Mr. Chaudhry please think and keep the coalition government intact,” the sources quoted the Senate Chairman as saying.

During the meeting, Sadiq Sanjarani and the delegation accompanying him also inquired about the well-being of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Sanjrani further said that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain is a seasoned politician who has a keen eye on the situation and hoped that he would find a way out of the current situation.

During the discussion, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that the people have given five years’ mandate to the government and his party will not allow parliamentary traditions to be trampled.

The PML-Q leader added that the consultation process and meetings continue as part of the political process.

He assured Sadiq Sanjarani that the decision would be taken after deliberation and consultation with his parliamentary party.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi also said that every democratic government has the right to be allowed to complete the period given for the service of the people.

He said that elections look good on time and in the current political situation, the national interest is paramount.

The PML-Q leader said that the political environment in the country is changing day by day and his party wanted practical steps to be taken to provide immediate relief to the people.
