Tiktok and Youth

Sir through the column of your esteemed newspaper, i just want to draw the attention of the Pakistan Telecommunications authority (PTA) on the rising controversy on the ban of tiktok. Tiktok popularity is increasing day by day. But as someone says, with great popularity comes great criticism. The app in the laat few months is facing massive criticism from the public.

The app is widely used by the underage children which have sparked outrage from parents, privacy and security. It is just a wastage of time, people are spending hours on just scrolling and seeing videos on tiktok and the Youth which is known to be the assets of the country they are wasting their precious time and destroying their developmental period of age in making foolish videos just for the sake of fame.

Although i am not in favor of banning the tiktok as it is a great source of entertainment and a provide broader platform for the people to openly show their talent like acting, dancing, painting, sketching , singing and more but but it totally depends on us that how we are using it. beside, some of the content on tiktok is creating social unrest. PTA should have to ask the owner’s of the app for taking some actions on the policy as there should be certain restrictions such as age restriction, tiktok has a vibrant community of users so there should be content limitations in order to minimize the vulgarity and also the parents should filter and monitor the content their children are watching and posting. I hope the authorities should look into this issue and come up with a better solution than banning it. Ban of tiktok is not a solution.
