PM Imran, Bahraini counterpart discuss bilateral issues

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan had a telephonic conversation with his Bahraini counterpart, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, and discussed matters of mutual interests.

The two leaders vowed to further extend the strong bonds of amity that exist between the states, said a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Wednesday, adding that PM Imran invited the crown prince to visit Pakistan.

The crown prince enquired about the health of PM Imran, who has recently recovered from Covid-19 after testing positive for the virus on March 20, and wished him a speedy recovery.

The ongoing coronavirus situation in both countries was discussed by the two leaders.

PM Imran thanked the crown prince for his call and conveyed warm greetings for Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of Bahrain.

He hoped that the brotherly ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain will continue to prosper and strengthen in the years ahead.

During the conversation, it was agreed to maintain positive momentum in high-level exchanges between the two brotherly countries.
