PFA destroys ‘poisonous’ vegetables

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) uprooted unhealthy and poisonous vegetables on 808 kanals of land in South Punjab.

A PFA official said on Monday these vegetables had been grown on sewerage water, and were therefore destroyed during a special operation in different cities including Vehari and Bahawalnagar.

Meanwhile, the PFA sealed four food points in Khanewal for using expired ingredients in edible items.

The eateries included Ali Baba Sweets, Ashiq Sweets, Huzaifa Sweets while Chishti drink Corner was sealed for selling gutka, the spokesman said.
