PFA seals food points over substandard operations

LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed various factories and sale points on Sunday over either substandard production or sale in various cities of the province.

The PFA spokesman said that the authority sealed a pickle factory in Qadirpur area of Multan and seized over 20,000 kilograms of substandard pickle items, 1,200 kilograms of poor quality and impure spices and rotten fruits that were disposed of later.

During an operation in Tollinton Market of the provincial capital, the PFA sealed two poultry centres due to the poor condition of cleanliness and sale of unhealthy chicken.

Also, the PFA seized and disposed of 1,300 litres of substandard quality milk at a local milk shop. The authority sealed the shop and disposed of the milk.

In Rawalpindi, the PFA sealed two food points over the sale of substandard food items.
