Top Karachi’s restaurant owners come together for competition beyond the kitchen

KARACHI: In a city where restaurant owners rarely step away from daily demands, Indolj brought a unique opportunity for leaders across the food industry to gather in Karachi this January. The event wasn’t about meetings or launches; it was about spending time together, competing side by side, and reconnecting as a community.

The gathering took place on 13th January 2026, where top restaurant owners from all over the country were united together at one place by Indolj. The setting allowed conversations to happen naturally, without agendas or pressure. Owners spoke openly, laughed freely, and spent time with peers they usually only hear about from afar.

The second edition of the padel tournament, organized by Indolj, showed clear growth in intent and participation. The gameplay was sharp and focused, reflecting the seriousness with which owners approached the event. Between matches, the atmosphere stayed relaxed yet purposeful, creating space for honest discussions around shared challenges and experiences.

By the end of the evening, Dilpasand, led by Anas Mughal, claimed the top spot after a strong and consistent performance. WAH Brands, led by Athar Chawla, followed closely as runners-up, while DelFrio secured third place. The results mirrored the tone of the evening, competitive yet respectful, driven by commitment rather than rivalry.

Speaking on why gatherings like this matter, Saad Jangda, CEO of Indolj, shared his thoughts:

“Restaurant owners spend most of their lives solving problems and staying on their feet. Bringing everyone together like this gives them time to breathe, reconnect, and remember they are not working in isolation. That sense of shared ground is important.”

Owners from some of Karachi’s most well-known restaurant and food brands were present, including KFC, 14th Street Pizza, Broadway Pizza, Karachi Haleem, Delfrio, Domino’s Pakistan, OPTP Fries, Tooso, WAH Brands, Foods Inn, Kababjees, Lush Crush Pops, Burger Lab, Burger O’Clock, Nando’s Pakistan, California Pizza, Xander’s Café, Pizza Max, OD, Chop Chop Wok, Karachi Broast, Angeethi, United King, Rehmat e Shereen, Dilpasand, Ridan House of Mandi, Lal Qila, Delizia, Kaybees, Hot N Spicy, Ginsoy Extreme, Kanteen, Tao, Harlyy, Esquires Pakistan, and others.

Members of the All Pakistan Restaurant Association (APRA) were also present at the event, adding further weight to the gathering. Their participation reflected the importance of industry-wide unity and showed how leaders across the restaurant ecosystem are coming together to support stronger collaboration, shared growth, and a more connected food community in Pakistan.

What lingered after the matches ended was not the scoreline, but the feeling of connection. Owners stayed back, conversations continued, and new bonds quietly formed. It was a reminder that even in a demanding industry, moments like these matter.

As more gatherings like this take shape, one thing stands out clearly. When Karachi’s restaurant owners come together in the right setting, the outcome reaches far beyond the event itself. Indolj continues to play a central role in making these powerful connections possible, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in the restaurant industry.
