Jaishankar’s landmark visit to Islamabad

The visit to Islamabad by Mr S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India’s, for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting holds significance as it comes against the backdrop of strained relations between India and Pakistan. It will be the first visit to Pakistan by an Indian foreign minister since 2015. Even though any bilateral dialogue between India and Pakistan on the sidelines of the SCO meet appears unlikely, New Delhi has taken the right decision to confirm its participation in the SCO meet.
