Cattle market

The annual cattle market in Karachi has been shifted this year to the Northern Bypass, which has caused tremendous difficulties to the people who want to go to the main market in search of more options and better prices. The venue this year is at a far-flung, deserted area, and the path to which is dotted with criminals. Dacoities and even murders have been reported from the area, underlining the dangers inherent in undertaking the journey.

Things being what they are, people are forced to dish out additional money to those selling cattle within the city. Other than the financial hassle, there is also the issue of encroachments caused by these ‘vendors’ on city streets, causing traffic jams. The authorities should definitely reconsider their decision the next year.
