Rohit Sharma creates history as T20I captain

India’s T20I skipper Rohit Sharma won the opening game of a three-match T20I series against England, and in doing so, he has made a unique record.

After registering the victory, Sharma became the only cricketer in history to register 13 consecutive wins in T20Is.

The record was previously held by Afghanistan’s Asghar Afghan, who had 12 consecutive wins under his belt.

In addition to Sharma’s record, India has continued its impressive run in the shortest format of the game as they have registered 25 victories out of 29 matches.

Rohit Sharma also became the third Indian to breach the 1,000-run mark in T20Is as a captain during the first T20I against England.
