T20 WorldCup: PCB cancels Pakistan squad’s scenario match, changed training schedule

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated on Thursday that the board has made some amendments in the team’s training schedule by cancelling today’s scenario match, which was scheduled to take place at the LCCA ground.

The board revealed that as part of their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the players will now do a two-hour net session at the Gaddafi Stadium later today.

It is to note that no further details have been shared by the PCB about the change of plan in the schedule.

However, PCB revealed that all the players have tested negative for COVID-19.

The cricket board said that the squad will depart for the UAE on a chartered flight at 11:00am tomorrow. They will leave for the airport at 7:00am.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the ICC had announced a schedule for the warm-up matches, which will take place between participant teams.

A total of 16 fixtures will be played from October 12-20. Each team will play two warm-up matches.

Pakistan will kick off their warm-up fixtures on October 18 against West Indies, and conclude on October 20 against South Africa.

The Pakistani squad will then play a much awaited match with arch-rivals India on October 24, in Dubai.
