Karachi set for humid weather with drizzle likely in parts

Karachi is expected to remain partly cloudy and humid over the next two days, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasting occasional strong winds and light drizzle at isolated places.

The city saw similar conditions on Sunday as humidity made the weather feel hotter despite a maximum temperature of 35°C. The PMD recorded humidity at 62%.

In an early warning alert, the Met Office said Monday and Tuesday were also likely to bring gusty winds and patchy drizzle. It added that a low-pressure system over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas persists, though it is expected to weaken further, while strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea continue affecting southern and central parts of the country.

Under this system, intermittent thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rain are forecast in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Sanghar and Matiari. Authorities have warned that strong winds and lightning could damage vulnerable structures, while heavy downpours may lead to urban flooding in parts of Sindh.
