Seven dog bite cases reported in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Seven people were brought to hospitals with dog bite injuries from different areas on Sunday, and all were reported to be in stable condition.

Two of the victims were taken to Benazir Bhutto Hospital. Ali Raza, 26, of Dhoke Kashmirian, was bitten by a stray dog while passing through a street. Saad Khalid, 18, from Jinnah Street in Morgah, was also attacked by a stray dog while walking through a street. Both were given anti-rabies vaccine in line with standard procedures.

District Headquarters Hospital received five dog bite patients. They included eight-year-old Abdul Rehman, a resident of Vehari, and Mohammad Jabbar, 25, of Babu Lal Hussain Road in Dhoke Ratta, who was also bitten by a stray dog while passing through a street. Jahanzaib Lal, 65, from Mohallah Malakhel in Charsadda, was separately brought to the same hospital with a dog bite injury.

The other two patients treated at DHQ Hospital were Mohammad Younas, 54, a resident of Shah Allah Ditta in Islamabad, and Muzamil Usman, 44, from Lala Musa in Tehsil Kharian, Gujrat. Hospital staff administered anti-rabies vaccines to the patients.
