Donald Trump declares himself TikTok's biggest star, drags Taylor Swift into it

Donald Trump has found a new rivalry. And this time, it's with Taylor Swift.

Speaking during a White House press briefing, the US President confidently declared himself the biggest name on TikTok, insisting he sits comfortably above the global pop superstar.

"You know who the number one person on TikTok is by far? Trump, me. I'm number one. Taylor Swift was number 11. I'm number one on TikTok by far," Trump told reporters.

There's just one problem. The numbers don't back him up.

As of July 7, Trump's official TikTok account has around 16.6 million followers and 121.8 million likes. Taylor Swift? She has roughly 33.5 million followers and more than 274 million likes—despite posting far less frequently.

And neither of them is actually TikTok's biggest star. That title still belongs to creators like Khaby Lame, Charli D'Amelio, and MrBeast, all of whom have audiences that dwarf both Trump and Swift.

Trump didn't explain where his rankings came from, and the White House has yet to provide any evidence supporting the claim.

Still, one thing is certain. Taylor Swift may not have responded—but she somehow found herself in yet another Donald Trump press conference.
