PTI submits six-lawyer list for meeting with Imran Khan
PTI has submitted the names of six lawyers to Adiala jail authorities for a meeting with Imran Khan on Tuesday. His sisters are also expected to arrive at the jail, citing Islamabad High Court orders on family and legal access.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has sent the names of six lawyers to Adiala jail authorities for a meeting with former prime minister Imran Khan on Tuesday, as the party again seeks implementation of Islamabad High Court directions on access to the jailed PTI founder.
Advocate Awais Younas Chaudhry, who submits names to the jail administration on behalf of PTI and Imran Khan’s family, provided the list on Monday. The lawyers named for the meeting are Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Raja, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, Hasnain Sunbal, Shahbaz Ahmad and Fatah Burki.
Imran Khan’s sisters are also expected to reach outside Adiala jail on Tuesday in an effort to secure a meeting with him. They would be hoping that orders issued by the Islamabad High Court are carried out.
The court had directed the jail administration to arrange meetings between Imran Khan and his lawyers and family members on Tuesdays, while party leaders were to be allowed to meet him on Thursdays. However, those directions have not been implemented for many months.
