Ten-man England beat Mexico to reach World Cup quarter-finals
England reached the World Cup quarter-finals with a 3-2 win over Mexico after surviving a late fightback at the Azteca Stadium. Jude Bellingham scored twice and Harry Kane added a penalty as England set up a last-eight meeting with Norway.

MEXICO CITY: England booked their place in the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals with a 3-2 win over co-hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium on Sunday, holding on after playing most of the second half with 10 men.
Jude Bellingham gave England a commanding start by scoring twice in the space of a minute. He first finished from a Bukayo Saka cross and then added another after Harry Kane set him up, putting the visitors firmly in control and silencing the home crowd.
Mexico responded before the break when Julian Quinones reacted first to a loose ball in the box and fired into the roof of the net to cut the deficit. England then suffered a setback in the second half as Jarrell Quansah was sent off following a VAR review, leaving them a man short for the remainder of the match.
Despite that, England restored a two-goal cushion when Kane converted a penalty after goalkeeper Raul Rangel fouled Anthony Gordon. Mexico stayed in the contest after Raul Jimenez also scored from the spot, with VAR confirming Kane had fouled Brian Gutierrez. The match had started an hour late because of adverse weather conditions around the stadium. England will next face Norway in the last eight in Miami on Saturday, while Mexico's run ended at its deepest stage in 40 years.
