As part of the provincial government's relief package, Maryam Nawaz handed over compensation cheques of Rs2 million to the family of each deceased child and Rs500,000 to every injured child.

Addressing the affected families, the chief minister said the enormity of the tragedy was beyond words and that no amount of financial compensation could lessen the pain of parents who had lost their children.

"There are too few words to express such profound grief. No amount of money can compensate for the tears of bereaved mothers," she said.

Maryam Nawaz observed that the tuition centre should have been evacuated immediately after the first brick fell from the roof, stressing that those responsible for negligence would be held accountable.

"I cannot avert the trials decreed by Almighty Allah, but I will not spare those responsible for negligence," she said.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, the chief minister said, "I am a mother myself and fully understand your pain and emotions."

Describing the deaths of the innocent children as heartbreaking, she assured the families that the Punjab government would stand by them and extend every possible assistance.

"Your children's loss is my own loss," she said, reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting the affected families through their difficult time.

During the visit to Kahna's Eidgah locality, the chief minister also offered Fateha for the departed souls and met the mothers of the deceased children, conveying her deepest sympathies.

Recalling the tragedy, she said the grief she experienced upon learning of the children's deaths was beyond expression.

"Your loss is immense. I am a mother myself and can understand your pain," she told the families.

The chief minister further observed that once children informed their teacher that bricks had started falling from the roof, the class should have been dismissed immediately.

Maryam Nawaz also met two children who survived the incident, comforted them and inquired about their well-being. The children told the chief minister they had requested their teacher to allow them to leave after bricks began falling from the roof, but the class was not dismissed.

The affected families thanked the chief minister for personally visiting them, providing timely financial assistance and ensuring prompt medical treatment for the injured children.
