A woman and her three children were found dead inside a locked house in Okara's Jandraka village, police said. In a separate incident, three motorcycle riders were killed in a car crash in Dipalpur.

Woman, three children found dead in locked Okara house

OKARA: A 42-year-old woman and her three young children were found dead inside a locked house in Jandraka village in Okara on Saturday, police said.

The bodies were recovered from the home of Muhammad Riaz in the Ravi Police area, about 40 kilometres north of the city on the bank of the Ravi. The deceased were identified as Fauzia, 42, Dawood, 6, Junaid, 7, and Dua Fatima, 10.

District Police Officer Dr Asad Ejaz Malhi visited the scene, while a Ravi Police team collected forensic material and other evidence from the house. The bodies were later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police said the bodies did not appear to bear torture marks or other visible injuries. In a separate incident in Dipalpur tehsil, three people riding a motorcycle were killed when a car hit them on Qila Yousaf Bhatti Road. Rescue 1122 identified the deceased as Muhammad Mumtaz, his seven-year-old son Shoaib Akhtar, and 13-year-old Abdullah, son of Afzal, all residents of 27/ERB Arifwala in Pakpattan district. After legal formalities, their bodies were taken to THQ Hospital Dipalpur, while the car driver fled the scene.
