Kidnapped youth recovered, three suspects held after Faisal Town raid

SHAKARGARH: A 22-year-old man allegedly abducted for ransom was recovered during a police operation in Faisal Town, while three suspected kidnappers were arrested after an exchange of fire, police said.

According to police, the victim, Farhan, a resident of Shakargarh, had been kidnapped a few days earlier. Police said the abductors demanded Rs3 million from his family for his release, after which City Police registered a case on the complaint of the family and began an investigation.

Police said the suspects had been holding Farhan at a house in Faisal Town and were contacting his family through WhatsApp calls. On Sunday night, they again called the victim's father and told him to bring the ransom amount to a specified place. Acting on that information, a police team led by SHO City Police Station Naveed Warraich moved to the area and surrounded the suspected hideout.

Police said the suspects opened fire in a bid to escape, leading to a retaliatory response by the raiding team. After the encounter, Farhan was recovered and three alleged kidnappers were taken into custody, while two other suspects managed to flee in the darkness, according to police.
