ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued notices to 1,152 people suspected in connection with their Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs), including individuals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to official sources.
The authorities said the list covers people whose citizenship status, family records or other personal details have triggered concern during NADRA’s scrutiny process. The verification exercise also includes examination of some suspected Afghan refugees.
Under directions from NADRA’s regional headquarters, all those who have been notified have been told to appear before the relevant NADRA board within two weeks. They have been instructed to bring documents to establish their identity.
The move forms part of an ongoing verification process being carried out by the authority in different parts of the country, as officials review records flagged for further examination.
