Five bomb disposal personnel martyred in North Waziristan attack

MIRAMSHAH: Five members of a bomb disposal unit were martyred after terrorists attacked them during curfew hours in North Waziristan’s Razmak subdivision on Sunday, according to officials cited in local reports.

The attack took place near a security checkpost in the Waidoon area of Dosali tehsil, where the bomb disposal unit party was engaged in routine operational duties. Armed militants opened fire on the personnel, and all five were martyred at the scene.

The assault put the area on high alert, after which security forces launched a large search and clearance operation. The locality was cordoned off, multiple checkpoints were set up on key routes, and movement in and around the affected area was placed under close surveillance as forces began efforts to trace the attackers.

The bodies of the martyred personnel were transported by helicopter to the Combined Military Hospital in Bannu for formalities and funeral arrangements.
