ISLAMABAD: Pakistan said on Saturday that technical-level talks between the United States and Iran are scheduled to take place on Sunday in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, as Islamabad continues its mediation effort between the two sides.
In a statement, the Foreign Office said representatives of the United States and Iran would attend the discussions, along with mediators from Pakistan and Qatar.
The Foreign Office said Pakistan would continue to facilitate the process in its role as mediator in order to advance the understandings reached between Tehran and Washington under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.
The announcement signals a fresh step in the diplomatic track after Pakistan said it was working to keep the peace process on course. No further details about the agenda or the level of participation beyond the technical format were provided in the statement.
