IUB student dies after consuming drink bought from campus canteen

BAHAWALPUR: A student at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur died on Monday after allegedly consuming a beverage he had bought from the university canteen, prompting the administration to shut the facility and begin an inquiry.

The student was identified as Tanzil Musa, a BBA student and a resident of Muzaffargarh district. He had just completed an examination at the Baghdadul Jadeed Campus and then purchased a bottled drink from the canteen.

He later collapsed on campus while walking back after taking the exam. University teachers, medical personnel and rescue staff responded immediately and checked him, but no vital signs were found.

The incident led authorities to seal the canteen as part of the investigation into the student's death.
