Government cuts petrol by Rs4 per litre, diesel by Rs2
The federal government has reduced petrol by Rs4 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs2 per litre. The new prices took effect from June 13, with petrol falling to Rs373.78 and diesel to Rs378.78 per litre.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has lowered the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, reducing petrol by Rs4 per litre and diesel by Rs2 per litre with immediate effect.
Under the revised rates, petrol will now sell for Rs373.78 per litre, down from Rs377.78, while high-speed diesel will cost Rs378.78 per litre compared to the previous Rs380.78. A notification issued by the Petroleum Division said the new prices would take effect from June 13.
The latest revision marks the fifth straight weekly cut in petrol prices. According to the figures cited in the official update, the cumulative reduction in petrol over these five adjustments has reached Rs41 per litre. In the previous review, the government had reduced petrol by Rs4 per litre, while keeping the price of high-speed diesel unchanged at Rs380.78 per litre.
The government is currently collecting about Rs100 per litre on high-speed diesel in the form of customs duty, petroleum levy and climate support levy, in addition to the inland freight equalisation margin. On petrol, the total tax component stands at Rs125 per litre, including petroleum levy, customs duty and climate levy.
