Pakistan Railways posts Rs63.56bn earnings in July-March FY2026
Pakistan Railways generated Rs63.56 billion in gross earnings during July-March FY2026, according to the Economic Survey 2025-26. The survey also said it carried 24.16 million passengers and operates 444 locomotives across 7,791 kilometres of track.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways recorded gross earnings of Rs63.56 billion during the first nine months of FY2026, according to the Economic Survey of Pakistan 2025-26 unveiled by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
The survey showed that the earnings for July-March FY2026 were lower than the Rs65.2 billion reported in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
According to the survey, Pakistan Railways carried 24.16 million passengers during the period, underscoring its continued role in the country’s transport system. The document said the organisation remained an important part of the national network while also supporting freight movement and broader economic activity.
The Economic Survey said Pakistan Railways operates 444 locomotives over 7,791 kilometres of railway track, describing it as a key part of the country’s transport infrastructure.
